Australia, 2006

2006 was an excellent Australian vintage, producing wonderfully ripe fruit and wines with great structure and fruit concentration. South Australia stole the show, having had the best weather – a warm, damp spring and a mild, pleasant summer – which perfect ripening conditions.

The only blip came from Western Australia which had an unusually cool summer and a wet harvest time.
