2007 was an excellent Tuscan vintage across all appellations despite an irregular summer growing season.
Spring was early and after a warm early summer a cool August brought respite, followed by an Indian summer with sufficient rain to prevent drought. Those who waited and picked late made the most of the conditions.
The late ripening Cabernet Sauvignon used in Super Tuscans fared particularly well and Chianti Classico and Brunello were also excellent.
