2000 was a goodish Burgundy vintage.
It was a tricky year and while things began well with a relatively warm spring, the weather turned distinctly wet in July.
Pinot Noir experienced considerable rot, and green harvesting and strict selection were necessary to produce good wines. Low acidity also makes it an early drinking vintage.
Chardonnay experienced less rot than Pinot Noir and Chablis and the Mâconnais fared the best.
