Estate Notes

Torii Mor's Deux Verres Reserve Oregon Pinot Noir 2009 was purchased in its original wooden case and is a wonderful New World example of this capricious, yet noble variety. A 'must buy' for Pinot lovers..

Torii Mor was established north of the prime Dundee Hills stretch of Worden Hill Rd. by veteran grape grower Dr. Donald Olson whose first vintage was back in 1993. Since 2004 the legendary Burgundian winemaker, Jacques Tardy, has been employed, who skilfully marries his own considerable experience with this notoriously fickle grape from the grape's Burgundian homeland with the great local terroir.

Reviews

"Aromas of black raspberry, bitter chocolate, dried rose and black tea. Quite tightly wound, with sharply delineated flavors similar to the aromas. The firm, floral finish displays good cut and dusty tannins." Stephen Tanzer

"This Pinot is vivid and light on its feet, and juicy with raspberry and mint aromas and flavors. Finishes with lively acidity." Wine Spectator

"Torii Mor was founded in 1993 by Dr. Donald and Margie Olson. Their Olson Estate Vineyard was planted in 1972 making it one of the oldest in the state." eRobertParker.com
