Robert Parker's 'Wine Advocate' is the world's most influential wine publication: renowned for its consistency and independence of views. Average to very good wines score in the 80s; outstanding wines 90-95 points, while 96+ is reserved for the extraordinary.

Parker has a team of researchers and writers, and reviews referenced as 'Robert Parker's Wine Advocate' will have been written by another staff member.

An American periodical whose tasting notes and scores are highly regarded amongst the wine trade and American consumers. Wines are tasted 'blind' to maximise objectivity. Scores in the 80s are reserved for good to very good wines; 90-94 outstanding, whilst 95+ are deemed classic.

Stephen Tanzer's palate is widely recognised as being amongst the most objective in the world. Good wines score 80-84; 85-89 very good to excellent; 90-94 outstanding, and 95+ extraordinary.

The leading Italian wine guide, Gambero rates wines by awarding one, two or three glasses: one glass is a guarantee of a well-made wine; two glasses means very good and three glasses excellent.
