Wycroft's Pinot Noir 2006 represents New Zealand Pinot Noir at its very best.
Wycroft, based at the foot of the Tararua Mountain range, experiences intense summer temperatures and crisp winters – perfect for growing Pinot Noir. Wycroft focuses on producing just one bottling of 100% premium New Zealand Pinot Noir.
And with limited quantities, which tend to sell out in a matter of weeks, we have been extremely fortunate to get hold of a small allocation of this exceptional 2006 vintage for you. Tasting Notes..Concentrated cherry, red fruits and kirsch with savoury toasted spice, sweet leather and wood-mushroom. Well defined and intense front palate, concentrated and powerful depth with finely integrated tannins. Aromatic and velvety; very long macerated spicy development with mineral undertones, and a long delicate fruit finish. Reviews.."A very attractive nose of cherry, wild strawberry and a touch of rose petals...medium-bodied with good acidity, cohesive with a crisp, cranberry and strawberry finish with the tannins quite dominant. Good length, quite a masculine Pinot Noir but very well crafted. Excellent." eRobertParker.com (April 2008)
"Specialising solely in this one Pinot bottling, Wycroft has a very limited production and is sold on allocation, so don't hang around too long if you fancy a bottle or two...loads of mocha coffee rich, dark, brooding presence, with a plush layering of plum and black cherry...deep and full-flavoured." Tom Cannavan's winepages.com (June 2008) |
