Domaine Lagneau

Domaine Lagneau is a pre-eminent Beaujolais producer, crafting serious wines redolent of terroir from low-yielding old vines, with concentrated fruits and underlying minerality -  gastronomic expressions of the Gamay grape to accompany red meats and light game, but supple and enticing enough to quaff slightly chilled.

Beaujolais officially comes under the Burgundy wine region, although its wines are distinctly different. In fact, the reputation of these Gamay-based wines is largely based upon the glut Beaujolais nouveau, which accounts for around half of the region’s total production. However, there is a much more serious side to Beaujolais wine from its ten crus (lit. village appellations), including the Côtes de Brouilly and Régnié, which are in a completely different league to the simplistically light, fruity wines of the generic appellations.
