Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste

chateau grand-puy-lacoste

Grand-Puy-Lacoste’s is an estate on the up and its recent success can be attributed in large part to owner François-Xavier Borie who, since taking over from his father, has taken this 5th growth Pauillac château from good to great.

Xavier has rebuilt the cellars, installed smaller vats and instigated a more rigorous selection process. And today, Grand-Puy-Lacoste consistently outperforms its 5th growth status. If there were ever a review of the 1855 Bordeaux classification, this is surely one estate that would rise up the ranks.

Grand Grand-Puy-Lacoste's wines carry a hint of crème de cassis, which is the château's trademark characteristic in top vintages.
