1 x Auntsfield, Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc, 2015
Marlborough, South Island, New Zealand
Fresh passionfruit, ripe melon and lime aromas with hints of dried herbs, lemongrass and blackcurrant. Powerful, tight and elegant in the mouth with intense passionfruit, white peach and citrus, and underlying minerality giving lively tension and textural balance.
1 x Leeuwenkuil, Marsanne, 2014
W.O. Paardeberg, Western Cape, South Africa
Lovely pale gold hue. White ginger flower, ripe tropical fruit and hints of vanilla on the nose with hints of grilled hazlenuts. Good textured mouthfeel with fruit concentration and viscosity, savoury notes, balanced by acidity and a nice minerally finish.
1 x Pegasus Bay, Bel Canto Dry Riesling, 2014
Waipara, South Island, New Zealand
Rich and dripping with honey-scented notes of peach, dried pineapple and apple cider, accented by hints of toasted spice, floral and orange marmalade. Despite the smooth, rich texture, this has a very crisp and refreshing finish.
1 x Flechas de los Andes, Punta de Flechas Malbec, 2013
Unico Valley, Argentina
Notes of prunes and dark cherries. Here 40% of the wine matured in oak barrels (used) and the rest was kept in stainless steel until bottling in June 2014. The palate is medium-bodied, with very fine tannins and a slight bitterness in the finish.
1 x Auntsfield, Single Vineyard Pinot Noir, 2013
Marlborough, New Zealand
Dark cherry, blackberry and Doris plum aromas complimented by savoury aromas of dark chocolate, forest floor, cigar box and floral notes. Rich, silky texture, full and concentrated, with spice, dark fruit, savoury characters and fine tannin structure. Tight structure, yet rich and full with seamless length.
1 x Amelia Park, Margaret River
Margaret River, Western Australia
“The blend percentages are not specified, but the wine spent 12 months in French oak. The cabernet is certainly dominant, with potent cassis and redcurrant fruit; the tannin structure is gently savoury, exactly as it should be, the palate long and well balanced.” James Halliday
