Estate Notes

The appellation of Nuits-Saint-Georges extends over four miles and includes 140 hectares of Premier Cru designation. This grand size (in Burgundian terms) comprises a huge diversity of terroirs halfway between Dijon and Beaune.

The Dufouleur family has a long history of winemaking in Burgundy and the family can be traced back to 1596 and the village of Nuits-Saint-Georges. The original family name fouleur literally means grape crusher (depicted on the label), and this manual trade was practiced until the end of the 19th century.

Reviews

Ripe, fresh and gamey blackberry and black cherry fruit with heady violet, spice and musk, and fine depth and mineral foundation. Opulent, well-balanced and focused palate with velvety tannins and a delicious spread of fruit in the development, long and mineral with lifted fruit and violet aroma in the finish.
