Estate Notes

The Gros family has been making wine for over 150 years, and the estate was split into four parts in 1963 (under the Napoleonic Laws of Succession), two of which formed Domaine Gros Freres et Soeur run by Bernard Gros, son of the famous Jean Gros.

Bernard has overseen a great deal of investment in his properties, enlarging cellars and upgrading vineyards. His wines are not filtered and pure fruit flavours combine with supple oak flavours that enhance the richness and fine texture of the wine, but does not obtrude.

Reviews

“Sandalwood, burning vine cuttings, dill and cherry flavors abound in this beefy red. This is almost lacy in texture, until the firm tannins take over, asserting their grip on the long finish. A masculine style that needs time.” Wine Spectator

"...a beautifully centered wine that expresses the personality of the vintage while retaining plenty of freshness. An exotic concoction of racy, floral-infused raspberries, spices, mint, rose petals and hard candy emerges from this seductive, alluring Burgundy. This is a flamboyant wine full of intrigue for the future. The open, radiant finish is backed up by plenty of energy." eRobertParker.com
