Estate Notes

Christian Veyry’s 35-year-old vines really produced the goods in 2010 – another stunning Saint-Émilion for under £20, which is already drinking deliciously well now.

Owner/ winemaker Christian Veyry crafts seductive Saint-Émilion with bags of charm from an outstanding terroir, below the village of St Laurent-des-Combes, which was ignored by many Bordeaux growers until Christian showed its full potential. But Christian’s ability to craft wines of great quality has made Saint-Émilion’s top growers sit up and take notice and, more importantly, our own discerning clientele.

Reviews

Rich, very ripe nose of plum & cassis fruit, with an attractive aromatic edge of Cabernet Franc refinement and elegance overlaying notes of cream, chocolate / mocha / spice within the core. Impressive freshness and a minerally vitality underpin the palate of ripe red & black currant / plum & berry fruit, with lifted aromatic, floral (violet) overtones providing real finesse and class.
