Estate Notes

Martinozzi's latest vintage of Rosso di Montalcino is an excellent entry-level wine from an ancient estate set in stunningly beautiful Tuscan hillsides. It continues to excel above its station with every vintage.

Still, relatively unknown, the wines of Martinozzi are improving with every vintage. With excellent sited vineyards and the appointment of Paolo Caciorgna to oversee the winemaking process, we expect to see great offerings in future vintages from this estate. And after all, it’s not as if they were bad to start with!

Martinozzi’s Rosso di Montalcino is a perfect complement to game and strong cheeses such as pecorino, parmigiano reggiano and those yielding from cattle grazed on Alpine meadows.

Reviews

Complex, intensive and elegant bouquet with lovely floral nuances of violet and musk. Lively and rich, ripe and harmonious in the mouth, with floral-scented red fruits (cherry and kirsch), refined spice and rounded tannins. Impressive minerality on the finish.
