Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe is the flagship property of the great Les Vignobles Brunier Rhône dynasty.
Situated on a stony terrace on Plateau de La Crau, in the southeast of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Vieux Telegraphe's vines have to endure tough growing conditions: the soil, the mistral, the cold and the heat, not to mention strict appellation rules that render it unique.
This great estate's cellars are just as special, situated 2km south, at the foot of the plateau in the lieu-dit of Le Pigeoulet - bored into rock and naturally enjoying optimum humidity and temperature in an area that is renowned for its very hot summers. Here, the Brunier family has been making Châteauneuf-du-Pape for over a century - wines heavily influenced by their minrelly terroir – the rampart behind which the family protects each vintage from the onslaught of modernity.
Reviews.."The 2007 Vieux Telegraphe may be the greatest wine made at this property since the 2005 and 1998. Dense ruby/purple-tinged with an exquisite nose of salty sea breezes, licorice, ground pepper, jammy black cherries, black currants, figs, and plums, this is a full-bodied, rich, Provencal-styled offering with lots of sweet, ripe tannin. It is surprisingly accessible for a Vieux Telegraphe (this wine normally shuts down several years after bottling), but it should have great longevity (25+ years) given its power, full-bodied mouthfeel, and enormous length and richness. This is a brilliant effort from brothers Frederic and Daniel Brunier." eRobertParker.com |

Spicy, bitter chocolatey nose with black cherry fruit flowing into the mouth. Complex leathery, gamey elements, rising from a gorgeously silky frame.
