This oustanding gem of a wine, made from 100% Tempranillo, comes from some of the highest vineyards in the Ribera del Duero region. Tinto Figuero is situated in the famed area of La Horra and the estate is producing some truly wonderful and appealing modern Spanish reds.
Vine growing couple Jose Maria Garcia and Milagros Figuero have dedicated their lives to their family vineyards, and in 2001 produced this great entry level wine for the first time. As the name suggests, this beautifully pure expression of the Ribera spent four months in barrel and is ripe, sweet and structured. Reviews.."Dark ruby red in color, it exhibits an expressive nose of cedar, spice box, violets, incense, and blackberry. Surprisingly rich and concentrated for its humble price, this smooth-textured, lengthy offering will deliver pleasure over the next 6-8 years. It is an outstanding value that admirably displays the high quality of the Tempranillo fruit." eRobertParker.com |
