Terenzuola's premium Fosso di Carsano is a single vineyard wine from the estate's highest plantings at around 350 metres. The 45-year-old vines give this wine amazing depth, complexity and striking minerality, and it is certainly up there with ltaly’s best whites at under £20. An amazing find from off the beaten track.
Vermentino is an aromatic grape, producing wines of charmingly nuanced bouquets and pronounced mineral notes. They are wonderful gastronomic wines, and the natural accompaniment to fish, no surprise given the location of Terenzuola's vineyards right on the Ligurian/Tuscan coast.
Tasting Notes..More aromatic and structured than the basic Vermentino with smoky, flinty mineral notes, hay and honey on the nose. The rich palate is packed with concentrated peachy stone fruit leading on to a long finish with attractive mineral notes. Superb! Reviews.. “...emerges from the glass with wonderful nuance and complexity. There is a hint of petrol that recalls Riesling. The bright fruit carries through beautifully to the pointed, well-articulated finish.” eRobertParker.com |
