Winemaker Fabián Valenzuela has created a Malbec with relatively low alcohol from grapes grown at altitude that preserve the natural freshness of the delicious fruity juice. And the 2010 vintage was awarded First Place at Canada's International Value Wine Awards 2012 - being the top rated Malbec submitted.

Jean Claude Berrouet, who has 43 years experience at Château Pétrus, was appointed consultant winemaker for Tapiz in 2012. Jean Claude was the first permanent winemaker at Pétrus, and was tantamount in creating one of the world’s finest wines.
