Laurent Ponsot's 1998 Clos-de-la-Roche Grand Cru is packed with power and concentration - from vines with an average age of over 50-years-old (in fact some date back to 1911!).

Laurent Ponsot is one of the legends of current Burgundian winemaking, infuriating at times, often brilliant, he takes a non-interventionist approach to winemaking and sometimes appears unconventional. But at heart he is a traditionalist, or should we say has his routines. For instance the wine is bottled one week prior to the new moon every year and he does not really know why!
