Nicodemi 2009 Trebbiano is zesty and minerally with hints of jasmine and quince – a revelation from an underrated Italian region.

When we initially met Elena Nicodemi, our idea was to focus on the red wines of the estate. However, we tried the Trebbiano purely out of curiosity; it is generally regarded as Italy’s workhorse white grape variety with a tendency to produce thin and dilute wines, as well as being used in the production of balsamic vinegar! So you can probably imagine our delight on discovering this absolute gem for you.

Nicodemi’s commitment and application to their organic vineyards has paid huge dividends – crafting this truly classy wine from such an underrated grape.

Fresh lemons, quince and jasmine on the nose. Zesty and fresh in the mouth with citrus and pear fruit and lively stony, mineral notes. Lingers and finishes extremely long with a dash of herbs and white pepper spice.
