Lenzini, Poggio de Paoli, 2007

I.g.T. Rosso di Toscana, Tuscany, Italy

Lenzini crafts luxurious, velvety organic wines from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon - grape varieties normally associated with the great wines of Bordeaux. Lenzini comprises 24 hectares of beautiful Tuscan countryside set in a natural amphitheatre amongst the hills of Gragnano area.

Tasting Notes..

Very intense deep garnet colour. Rose-scented toasted spice and mocha with opulent fresh cherry and black fruit aromas, light kirsch and characteristic minerality. A luxuriant palate of fruit and spice, with velvety tannins, lovely core and spread of fruit behind, lightly macerated with lifted floral notes, and long elegant fruit and spice in the finish.

Reviews..

"...an elegant, floral lift on the nose here, a fleeting glimpse of lavender, with cedar-tinged black fruit beneath..the fruit quality is exquisite with lovely ripeness and a silkiness to the tannins. This is long and very beautiful..." thewinegang.com

"He is dynamic, zippy, a bundle of nerves with bright, jumpy eyes and the gift of the gab; she is blonde and petite, unperturbed, though below the surface she can hardly hide the great passion which animates her daily work. They are Michele Guarino and Benedetta Tronci Lenzini, husband and wife, and, since 2006, owners and managers of the beautiful Tenuta Lenzini, set in the green Tuscan hills in the province of Lucca." WINECOUNTRY.IT

"Lenzini is one of the emerging new wineries in the Lucca area" Gambero Rosso 2010
