Fondreche’s hugely concentrated ‘entry-level’ Rhône delivers a lot of character for not a lot of money. Hugely concentrated for the price, with masses of fresh appeal, it’s the perfect bistro-style wine. It is bottled unfiltered from organically farmed vineyards and is, quite simply, in the words of Robert Parker: “...a super bargain....” Tasting Notes..Deep dark southern Rhône nose - sweet and rich red fruits. Juicy red fruits - cherries and raspberries - fill the mouth, with a nice mineral backbone adding focus. Hints of spice, pepper and herbs add further high notes. A great medium-bodied quaffing wine. Reviews..“...a sort of bistro-styled red that has crisp acidity and tart black cherry and berry notes with plenty of spice, pepper, and herbs....a reference point for value wine!...I often find myself reeling at how splendid their wines are vis-à-vis value.” eRobertParker.com "The leading reference point estate in the Cotes du Ventoux region, Domaine de Fondreche is run with extraordinary passion and impeccable attention to detail by Sebastian Vincenti and Manou Barthelemy. This large estate of just under 100 acres is biodynamically farmed and all the red wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered." eRobertParker.com |
