Domaine Vaquer, Muscat de Rivesaltes, 2009

A.O.C. Muscat de Rivesaltes, Languedoc/Roussillon, France

This has all the finesse and complexity of the world’s great sweet white wines at a fraction of the price.

Muscat de Rivesaltes comprises Muscat aux Petits Grans (which provides richness) and Muscat d’Alexandrie which lends fragrance and finesse to the mix.

Domaine Vaquer is celebrated for its ultra-traditional wines, but in recent years M. Vaquer’s daughterin- law, Frédérique, has also brought modern technical expertise to the table, resulting in wines of great character and authenticity combined with refinement and precision.

Tasting Notes..

Very fine orange peel/zest/citrus notes, with light, ripe apricot fruit, marzipan, orange blossom and mimosa, and a hint of cardamom/ spice. Ripe and intense apricot & orange fruit core, with hints of crème brulee and creaminess. Very fine intensity and persistence, with a delightful acidity and freshness alongside that really lift the palate and provide real focus and balance.
