Château Veyry is a garage wine – a term used to describe production that could fit into a garage. It is also literally a garage wine, comprising a battered old garage housing two battered old Citroens, with a small winery attached.

2003 was one of the hottest Bordeaux years on record, and took very deft handling in what was, in reality, a difficult year to produce top flight wine. Once again, Christian produced the goods, and what we have here is a luxuriously rich and well rounded effort to be enjoyed now and over the next few years. A remarkable wine from an unremarkable shed.

Rich mocha, cassis and brambly fruit. Great definition with black cherry stone fruit and hints of pepper and clove spice rounding things off in real style.
