Château Veyry's 2001 exhibits richness and structure with superb ageing potential and Decanter magazine selected it as one of their ‘Wines of The Year’.
Château Veyry comprises just 4 hectares of south-facing vines – a direct continuation of the limestone ridge upon which the great Saint-Émilions are based – and Veyry is certainly in the same rich Bordeaux vein.
Christian Veyry took over the château in the mid-1980s, having gained experience under Michel Rolland, the legendary Bordeaux winemaker. Veyry crafts modern style Bordeaux that have wowed the world’s wine critics, and offer great value-for-money too. Reviews..“Kirsch, blueberry, wild strawberry, roasted nuts and bitter chocolate on the fruity nose. Creamy-sweet and round, vibrant, with dense black cherry and spice flavors and sound underlying spine. Refreshing and well-made.” Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar (May/June 2002)
“Dark, brooding nose of gorgeous rich roasted coffee and burnt wood aromas, complemented by smooth dark fruits. Serious, and slightly restrained on the palate, with flavours of bitter cherries and forest fruit. Meaty structure.” Decanter magazine
