Château Palmer’s 1999 is one of the finest wines of this very good Bordeaux vintage.

Palmer’s wines are highly sought after around the world – an intensely seductive Margaux style. Palmer is a quintessentially beautiful château sited on the outskirts of the village of Margaux, and was established by Englishman, Major-general Charles Palmer, who arrived in Bordeaux after the Napoleonic wars, and is now under the control of Franck Mähler-Besse, the son of a Dutch immigrant.

“The 1999 is the greatest Palmer made since 1961, 1966, 1970, 1983, and 1989. It is one of the superstars of the vintage. The wine is a blend of 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46% Merlot, and 6% Petit Verdot.
