Château Duhart Milon 2002 is an elegant feminine style of Pauillac.
Duhart-Milon, which is owned by Domaines Barons de Rothschild, is one of the few properties in the 1855 classification to lack a château; and the wine is actually finished off in in a large warehouse.
But despite this lack of grandeur, the quality of the produce, as with many estates under the distinguished Rothschild stable, is very high; then again with neighbours such as Châteaux Lafite Rothschild and Mouton Rothschild in this northern part of Pauillac - this is the least we should expect from such high quality soils. Duhart-Milon's wines lean towards the rather elegant, restrained style with great balance and real finesse. Reviews.."Very elegant and refined on the nose: bright red-berried fruit, raspberry and wild strawberry entwined with cedar-wood and graphite. Very well balanced on the palate: natural and just the right amount of austerity with black pepper and pencil lead. Very fine tannins, feminine, lithe, beautifully poised on the finish. Lovely." eRobertParker.com |

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste 1995 carries a hint of crème de cassis, which is the château's trademark characteristic in top vintages
