Château Moulinet, 2007

A.O.C. Pomerol, Bordeaux, France

Moulinet has crafted an early drinking fleshy supple wine, a classy Pomerol with bags of red cherry and brambly fruit.

Château Moulinet is situated in the northwest of Pomerol, where the soil is mainly clay and sand. Consequently the wines made here are generally lighter in style, but also represent excellent value-for-money.

We have always admired, and indeed listed, quite a few vintages from Château l’Eglise Clinet and there is no doubt that Denis Durantou, the owner there, is one of the leading winemakers not only in Pomerol but all of Bordeaux. It therefore comes as no surprise to us that we found out he was consultant winemaker at Moulinet for the 2007 vintage.

Tasting Notes..

At Moulinet Denis has crafted an early drinking fleshy supple wine; a classy Pomerol with bags of red cherry and brambly fruit. There are attractive savoury notes with a decent structure and melded tannins. Additionally there are hints of mocha and spice. Lovely vitality and very enjoyable. Truly outstanding for the vintage.
