Château Miaudoux’s 2005 sweet wine is a great value alternative to Sauternes. Made from very old vines it is the perfect aperitif alongside fine pâtés or foie gras, and a great dessert wine too.
Saussignac has been famous for its vinous bounty since medieval times when Rabelais, a renowned French writer, penned his perspective on it. Now it’s time to add your own taste perspective.
And, once you have enjoyed Miaudoux’s wines, why not see how they make them for yourself? Gérard and his wife Nathalie offer ‘vineyard environment discovery’ breaks – with vineyard accommodation – perfect for wine lovers who want to get their hands dirty! Tasting Notes..The native terroir of the Semillon grape gives a fruitier expression than in Sauternes, redolent of ripe apricots, coupled with the honeyed richness of the fine 2005 vintage and the crème brulée undertones brought about by the late autumn botrytis before picking. All this married to the discreet vanilla of the oak barrels in which the wine is vinified. |
