Bergerac is known as ‘the other great vineyard in the Aquitaine’, but its less famous wines, like this wonderfully expressive and rounded Bergerac Blanc, offer greater relative value than Bordeaux blanc.

Château Miaudoux, situated on the sun-baked hillsides of Saussignac, has been a certified organic producer since 1986 – amazing foresight from its tenacious winemaker Gérard Cuisset – and around half the members of the Saussignac Producers Union have since followed – a stark contrast to the national French average of less than 3% of wine growers.

Fresh, appealing ripe pear, with an attractive citrus edge to balance. In the mouth it has a good central core of pear and apple fruit, ripe with slightly buttery/limey notes. Well made and attractive with good, ripe persistence.
