Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion really produced the goods in 2008. Highly rated by the likes of Robert Parker, it's an absolute steal. But please be quick – stocks are genuinely limited! Les Carmes Haut-Brion is a gem of an estate, situated in very close proximity to the famed Bordeaux first growth of Haut-Brion, but without the prices to match. The name 'Les Carmes' is derived from the monks, the Carmes de Notre Dame, who ran the estate for 200 years. Reviews..“This has a rich ripe expressive nose, blackberries, red cherries, a citrus note of lemon and perhaps even a touch of apricot. Nice lift. The palate is full-bodied, very cohesive with very good balance. Good definition, some quality oak and quality fruit here with great poise and length on the finish. Fine breeding here, this really is turning out to be a delicious Les Carmes. Excellent." eRobertParker.com |
