Château Léoville Barton 1995 comes from an excellent Bordeaux vintage.
There are few Bordeaux châteaux today that consistently receive such favourable press from journalists and consumers alike, yet remain such good value-for-money. Thanks to the Barton’s noble aim to produce classic Saint- Julien wines that many consumers can afford, Léoville Barton is one such château.
Château Léoville Barton is owned and run by the congenial Anthony Barton and his daughter Lilian, who have succeeded in maintaining its reputation for producing traditional top-flight Bordeaux wines with great ageing potential, yet relatively small Saint-Julien price tags. Reviews.."A very attractive nose with a slight under-ripeness that lends it freshness and vitality. The palate is well-balanced with toasty new oak. But quite backward compared to others with a dense sweet, chocolate tinged finish. Quite modern in style on the surface, but you can tell that there is a robust classic structure underneath." eRobertParker.com (April 2005) |

2004 turned out to be a good Bordeaux vintage in truth, a gentle more restrained vintage than 2003, even classic perhaps.
