Château Latour needs no introduction - a world famous Bordeaux wine whose label commands huge respect and often price tags to match. But there is more to Latour than its hugely marketable Bordeaux name and label. Latour is historically the most consistent of Bordeaux first growths in terms of quality. Even in difficult years it manages to create wines that put many of its neighbours in the shade, This is particularly evident in the 1998 vintage, a tricky year for many left-bank Pauillac growers, and one in which Latour has managed to create an outsanding wine. Reviews.."...medium-bodied, very harmonious and surprisingly fleshy for Latour, with rounded supple tannins, a certain lushness that you infrequently find here, a touch of spice on the finish." eRobertParker.com "Plenty of raspberry, dark chocolate and mint on the nose. Full-bodied, with licorice and sweet tobacco character and a cedar undertone. Outstanding. Pop the cork." Wine Spectator |
