Château Langoa Barton, 2006

A.O.C. Saint-Julien, Bordeaux 3ème Grand Cru Classé, France

Château Langoa Barton 2006 is exceptionally well priced for a third growth Médoc.

Château Langoa Barton is the stablemate of Léoville-Barton and always the subject of comparison but they are definitely two different estates.

Langoa invariably shows perhaps a more feminine and accessible side with Leoville being more muscular. In modern times the Château has been remarkably consistent and represents great value.

The estate has been in the hands of the Barton family since 1821, and is the longest family ownership of any Bordeaux châteaux.

Reviews..

“This tastes more like a Pauillac than a St.-Julien with its big, beefy, tannic overlay and aromas and flavors of black currants, asphalt, leather, and damp earth. Tannic, full-bodied but almost impenetrably closed and broodingly backward, this is a long-term prospect for those with patience.” eRobertParker.com (Feb 2009)
