The Les Vergers vineyard produces wines which mature relatively young and are renowned for their opulent, smoky, toasty characteristics.
Chassagne-Montrachet accounts for some of the most expensive and long-lived whites in the world from its grand cru appellations. However, the Les Vergers vineyard is capable of achieving superlative wines equal to grand cru status, at a fraction of the price.
Tasting Notes..Lovely clean orchard fruit aromas of apple and pear abound with butter and creamy new oak vanilla. The palate is wonderfully textured with rich biscuity fruit and nut flavours. A good cut of fresh acidity and underlying minerality keeps everything in focus. Reviews.."...a great nose, very open, expressive and characterful, with notes of white peach skin, bright citrus tones and also a subtle layer of highly polished cashew nut. On the palate it is bright and fleshy, with a quite remarkable creamy-glossy texture. It carries a massive raft of fruit at the start, the structure of the wine - it has an appealing grip - just dripping with peach. Rich, with piles of flavour-impact packed within a linear, well-defined frame and backed up by almost juicy acidity, this is a really impressive wine, approachable and thus lovely for drinking now...if you are on the hunt for a delicious wine which is certainly true to its origins, then this could certainly still be the bottle for you." thewinedoctor.com
“Very ripe peach/citrus fruit. Quite forward, but lovely depth of fruit.Very pure despite the richness.” Decanter Magazine
"What a lovely wine and though with a delicate peachy ripeness, still fine and structured." thewinegang.com |
