This sublime 2007 is the first vintage of this Echezeaux Grand Cru made by the hugely talented Anne Gros.

These 'family' vines from a small lieu-dit (Les Loachausesare) are leased from Gros Freres et Soeur and made in very small quantities.  The Gros family has been making wine in Vosne-Romaneé for over 150 years, and the estate was split into four parts in 1963 (under the Napoleonic Laws of Succession).

"I believe that Mme Gros' description of her wines as "pretty and delicate" captures them exactly..... high-toned red berry fruit nose features layers of spice and earth that are picked up by the light to barely medium-bodied flavors that are round, supple and very forward, in fact so forward that this could easily be drunk now though I personally would suggest allowing it 1 to 3 years in bottle first.
